I chose McNeese because I feel like McNeese has, especially in the nursing department, a very good reputation locally, regionally, even statewide, and out of state. I know I've talked to many people, even from other states. They know about McNeese and McNeese nursing and they have a lot of good really good things to say about it.
I play basketball so I was recruited. McNeese was one of the schools that that reached out to me. I chose McNeese because I felt like God honestly wanted me to because I prayed about it. And it was kind of funny because the timing of the offer coming in was like okay, this has to be a good thing and it just had everything I needed.
I was gonna come to McNeese originally, got offered to play football at Northwestern, did that for a year. And then, while I was there, I was doing business. And then I realized I really wanted to Ag degree, so transferred to McNeese to do Ag business. I'm very thankful and happy to be here.
My overall experience has been awesome. I'm finishing up here on a four year degree in a great field. And I've had the opportunity to meet kids that I would have never come across from other states, other countries, and our nursing group specifically has a really tight bond. I've made a lot of friendships that I feel like will last forever.
I believe in my opinion McNeese has the perfect size. You get to have one-on-one conversations with your professor. Your professor get to know you, your last name. They're there to help you because of the sizes of class. So I think that family welcoming vibe that McNeese has sets McNeese apart.
something from McNeese that I love is the hands-on experience here. We have a farm that we have labs constantly out there. Seeing the way you can apply real life really means a lot to me and my experience in education, because if I can't see how I can apply it, then I'm not going to take as much from it. I think that's where I've gotten the most gain out of McNeese is getting to apply everything that I learned in the classroom, to the farm.
I'm very, very grateful for my experience. Yeah, I'm a senior now. I'm looking for possibility of what I'm going to do after this, but just right now, in this moment, I'm just so grateful to my professors. The opportunity to just be here, to be loved, to be accepted. I'm just very grateful.
It's been life changing, it really has. If I wouldn't have met the people I've met, made the connections, broadened my horizons on education and different opportunities to go work at different places. These opportunities would not have come to me if I wouldn't have been here to learn what I learned and meet the people I'm at. It's a great place to be, and I'm thankful to be a Poke here at McNeese.
